Keithyn and Christina’s secret garden wedding was one of the most beautiful weddings I have been a part of. From the gorgeous colors of cranberry and navy to the bride making all the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages herself. I loved working with this dream team to accomplish Christina and Keithyns dream wedding.

I met Christina at Starbucks in 2016 and we went over color schemes, bridal party, venue, and her photographer. She explained that the venue is literally in the heart of down town Athens and just by looking at pictures you would never guess that. She is so true. Founders Memorial Garden is a quaint garden in that you would miss if you didn’t know the area. It truly is a secret gem. She also explained that her photographer is one of her best friends and does weddings all the time. So naturally I look her up on Instagram and fell in love with her feed. Misty Nolan photography is a dream. Her work is out of this world and she truly is a doll to work with. After the first meeting we met a few more times and designed and worked in a plan of action for their wedding.

On October 21st, 2017 Christina and Keithyn became husband and wife. Christina looked gorgeous in her beautiful gown by BHLDN and Keithyn looked dashing in his suit by Generation Tux. Christinas soft curls and bridesmaids hair was styled by PageBoy Salon in Athens and her and her bridesmaids looked stunning with makeup done by The Glamatory. I absolutely loved the bridesmaids cramberry colored dresses by Weddington Way.

I loved the style Christina chose. She is extremely crafty. I was so impressed with her ability to make all the bouquets  ( including hers) and the boutonnieres. The silver dollar eucalyptus and white garden roses were to die for. She even made the acrylic table number, wood centerpieces, the bar, the signs, and the eucalyptus runner on the wooden estate table provided by Oconee Event Rentals. I was able to take her vision and guide her to my favorite plate rental company- The Prissy Plate. On the day of my staff and I set the blue and white beautiful plates with goblets and gold beaded chargers to complete the look.

The ceremony took place in the gardens with beautiful mahogany chairs by Oconee Event Rentals. I had asked Christina what is one memory that sticks out the most about their day and she answered, ” One of my favorite choices we made while planning out wedding ceremony was to have a close friend officiate. Not only did it make the ceremony more special and meaningful to us, it resulted in one of my favorite memories from that day. Daniel, our officiant, wrote a heartfelt portion of the ceremony for us that we all agreed would be kept as a surprise for the actual wedding day. Standing in front of our loved ones, I was moved to tears by the way he described our love. As I struggled to keep the tears from falling, Keithyn reached up and lovingly wiped a tear from my cheek. The overwhelming love I felt throughout our day was so strong in that moment.” I also asked what Christina’s favorite part about the wedding was.. her answer was so sweet! ” I think I’d have to say my favorite part of our wedding day was gazing into each others eyes during the ceremony, but its so difficult to choose one favorite part from such a perfect day! ” I would agree… it was so sweet to watch them finally be husband and wife ( they are high school sweet hearts). Misty Nolan photography really captured their love through out the whole day.

The first dances, dinner , and cake was held at the lawn portion of Founders Memorial Garden. Crumbs and Yums catering did a fantastic job with the spread. They also mixed in some of Keithyns favorites sweets since he is not much of a cake person. Their simplistic classic cake was by Publix and I was able to decorate it with the left over florals. We ended the night in a special part of the gardens that had a courtyard and we danced the night away with fun dance tunes provided by Automagic Music.

Their kiss at the end of the night was surrounded by the ones they love and lots of flower petals.

The last question I had for Christina was: What is one piece of advice you would give other brides? ” Every bride needs an amazing coordinator/planner to make things run smoothly and an amazing photographer to capture it all! One to make sure you get to enjoy your day to the fullest and one to make sure you get to remember and cherish every little detail for a lifetime! ”
